The Boogle, beloved pet of Celie Hayslette left Earth on Jan. 4, 2015. Celie and her family– her mom Sandra and NC Executive director Philip Coulling — were claimed by the Boogle for nearly 12 years. A Nature Camp regular, he loved all Nature Camp people, especially those with bacon, beef jerky, or meatloaf. He reminded us all of many important lessons in life: playing outside is fun; being left alone is not; getting enough rest is crucial; you should stop and smell the roses, the compost, the dead animals, the moldy snacks, the poop, etc.
We’ll all miss his floppy ears, musical vocalizations, and kitchen stealth tactics. Most of all, we’ll remember his sweet, genuine affection. Memorial contributions can be made to Camp scholarship funds (we think he’d like that). Rest in peace, buddy – you are well loved.
